Yesterday in the torrential rain, beneath the shelter of a garden gazebo, I was helped by members of the public to build a willow deer in a wildlife garden just outside Basingstoke. Today, in the dappled shade of another wildlife garden 26miles away, I helped 80 children build 2 of their very own deer. Last week I myself made 5 willow fish and 8 paper and willow butterflies – what a week!
