The uneven paving in this garden was lifted and crushed to create the sub base for the hardcore and gravel. Tall ‘transparent’ planting was used to offer a sense of privacy whilst maintaining a view to the village green.

Working my wood
The third season of coppicing in my wood, the overstood hazel understory has been removed now I am felling the ash which was shading the woodland floor. I need to organise a work party to help carry all the ash logs out.
Contemporary Garden – Alton
My client had strong design ideas and was looking for lush planting to create an oasis in this town setting. Crisp lines, modern materials, bamboos and box were all used to maximum effect. I have been involved with the maintenance pruning of this garden over the past few years
Hedge laying
With the help of volunteers, both experienced and learning, the hedge along the road was laid over three winters. Posts and binders were sourced from the hazel coppice within the wood.
