Today children of all ages descended on Kilver Court Gardens where they made willow fish to take home. I provided different coloured willows, including red dogwood, so that children could appreciate the natural colours of the twigs as well as the different feeling of stripped willow compared to withies with their bark on. All the children picked up the weaving pattern very quickly, even the very youngest. I love to see the children’s confidence (and smile) grow as their fish take shape.
