Today was my last day working at a school in Chilcompton. Over the past 2 weeks, I have worked with staff and pupils creating some great sculptures: 2 life size (and bigger than life size) people, a cow, a large deer, 3 hens, an owl, 5 large flowers and several dragonflies. I have witnessed how important the school grounds are to the children and I lost count of how many times I saw children surveying bugs, the vegetables, emptying the compost bin or feeding the hens. Many of the staff I worked with became completely enthused with willow and its possiblities and I hear that some of them have arranged to meet during the holidays with a willow project in mind. What a school!
