On the site of an old railway station, this garden still had much of the old brickwork from the platforms insitu. With the clients, I worked to re use the old black engineering bricks and to introduce some strong sweeping curves so as to create a user friendly garden for both children and for entertaining. Evergreen clipped shapes of laurel and bay were used to give the garden focal points, unity and privacy. A relatively small garden designed for maximum interest, it includes an exciting roof terrace, lighting, a play area, a reflective pool and a ‘pets corner’.
